Oishi Chikara, Boy of 15 sits in white.
Not thinking of girls, friends, but his growing up and not growing old.
Sitting among the silently smiling company of men,
One of who is five times and three years his age.

A handful of men from a full company of forty-seven.
Spread among three mansions, one in which his father also sits,
Silent, resign smiles on most.
All of whom spent two years either as farmers, as madmen, as if they had no honor.
One of the forty-seven even as much as married the daughter of the craftsman
whom had built the mansion their target had resided.
All of the men ordered to die for taking revenge for the unlawful death of thier liege lord.
Whom was ordered to commit Sepuku, ritual suicide, for drawing his sword
in the castle in which the Shogun was in.
Being provoked beyond reason Lord Asano attacked Lord Kira for insulting him.
You see Lord Asano did not pay the Lord Kira a "heavy gift" as was tradition
for teaching Lord Asano his role in receiveing an envoy from the Emperor at the court of the Shogun.

During the two years the father of the young man, Oishi Kuranosuke, spent all his money on alcohol and women. Had once fallen asleep in the street of Kyoto,
passers-by mocked and laughed at him. One man, from Satsuma, was angry at his behaviour because of his lack of inaction at the death of his master and his condition he was in. kicked him in the face ( for this was a very grave insult to a Samurai), heaping insults at him and then spat on him.
Not long after, Oishi Kuranosuke's wife said he took the act too far,
feigning being a drunk to lure the enemy into thinking he was not planning revenge, for which he divorced her on the spot.

Chikara was once given a sword by his late Lord Asano whom they did avenge.
Ordered to take his own life to gain the honor which they already had.
He must have been quite.. The men of whom he was numbered now did not see him as a child of thirteen, as they did two years ago.
He was one of them.

It also must be known, it is recorded that upon the grave of Oishi Kuranosuke,
the once insulting Satsuma man, the same one who had mocked and spat on Oishi Kuranosuke as he lay drunk in the street, he begged for forgiveness for his actions, and for thinking that Oishi Kuranosuke was not a true Samurai.
He then comitted suicide himself on the grave, and is buried next to the graves of the Forty-Seven Ronin.
The above incident is true..
The year? 1703.
You can visit the place which holds Chikara's small sword, or the wood armor, or the clothes Lord Asano's men made for the raid.

Times have changed, you can hear teenagers in malls demanding material things.
No respect for ones who raised them.
Listen, you hear teenage thieves bragging of stealing to friends.
We have people who live for the pleasure of themself only.
People whom have everything and nothing at the very same time.
Just thought this was very moving history.

Well done! I have just recently read the story of the 47 ronin...Of course, the ending had come so swift on the background of a long time's plan. And yes, Chikara's acts were pretty impressive as he accepted to be one of the 47 instead of staying home in the company of the geisha Okaru.
